Rez Dance Company: 2023/2024 Year
Rez Dance Companies strive for excellence in all performing venues, whether it is an Outreach opportunity sharing God's love to our community, or on a competition stage. The dancers who are selected for our Company withhold Rez Dance's values to the highest standard, and bring glory to God in every aspect of their lives. Dancers need to be 12 or older to audition. Please keep in mind, there is an age limit because dancers need to have a certain level of technical ability, as well as a certain level of maturity for what we ask for from our Company dancers.
Rise Company
Rise Company will be for those who have little to no experience with being in Company, and are on the younger side of the Company overall. These dancers will need to “Rise” above any trials they may be facing; whether dance related or not, as well as “Rise” above the dance level they are at to grow, excel and work on their technical level. Dancers in Rise Company are beginning to discover the artistry that comes along with dancing, and are starting to work towards that end goal. These dancers are challenging themselves every day to be their best, and achieve more as they grow and strive to bring glory to God in all aspects of their lives. These dancers are at the beginning of their spiritual journey as well and will grow in their relationship with God in their time here. This group will be eligible for competition. These dancers will all participate in Outreach projects that include the entire Rez Dance Studio Company. Dancers are only eligible for solos/duos/trios after 1 year of participation in Rise. If eligible, is a different commitment and cost that will need to be discussed with the choreographer of their choosing.
Elevate Company
Elevate Company will be for those dancers with more experience with being in Company, and have a higher technical level. These dancers are at the older end of the Company as well. These dancers have tackled the basics in technique and are looking to “Elevate” their dancing to a higher level, and bring more glory to God. Dancers in Elevate Company are adding the artistic level to their dancing, while maintaining the technique that has been achieved. These dancers are also striving to do their best every day and bring glory to God in all aspects of their lives. These dancers are in a deeper relationship with God, and their journey is more mature, but always with room to grow. This group will be eligible for competition. These dancers will all participate in Outreach projects that include the entire Rez Dance Studio Company. These dancers are also eligible for solos/duets/trios to take to competition, after 1 year of participation in Rise or Elevate companies, but those are a separate commitment and cost that needs to be discussed with the choreographer of their choosing.
Zia Company
Zia Company (pronounced zy-ya):
Zia Company is for dancers who still want to have more performance opportunities, as well as those adult dancers 18 and up. Zia means “light” and these dancers will be the light to the world that we need, and share that with others. These dancers can be from all levels, however can proficiently execute the audition requirements to be a part of the Company. These dancers can be at any point in their spiritual journey, and will use this as an outlet to grow their faith. These dancers are challenging themselves every day to be their best, and achieve more as they grow and to bring God glory in all aspects of their lives. This group does not compete due to either age limitations, or by request not to compete by the dancer.
Company Dues and Requirements:
Rise Company:
Each member will learn two competition pieces, one as a group (if enough dancers), and one with Elevate Company (or 2 with Elevate, depending on number of dancers), and the choreographer is dependent on the number of dancers in Rise Company. We will go to three competitions/conventions as a company. There are also requirements that each member will be responsible for:

Attendance will be monitored and it is expected that you are in all classes, but please communicate with us if there will be an absence. If there is an illness or injury, please let us know as soon as possible! We want you to be safe and healthy.

All members are required to join Rez Youth on Tuesday evenings if still in Middle or High School! If you are not a member of Rez, we instead ask that you are involved in your church’s youth group. Classes will not be during this time to encourage being there to strengthen your faith and come closer to God.

Appropriate dance attire is required per class taken. Please follow teacher instructions pertaining to each class and the dress code. All black is highly encouraged during our company class time so teachers and choreographers can see the group as a unit.

There will NOT be any pro-rating for missed classes/rehearsals.
Membership Fees (on top of normal class tuition):

$600 Choreographic fee for 2 dances, including costuming fees.

$60 jacket fee for team jackets

$40 media fee for photoshoots for all pieces/company

$300 administrative fee for competition registrations, outreach projects, attire, shipping costs and other admin work

$1,000 total, can be broken down to 4 monthly payments from September-January of $250 or added to monthly tuition cost over 8 months.
Elevate Company:
Each member will learn three competition pieces 2 in house, 1 guest choreographer, with which groups are dependent on how many dancers are in Rise Company. We will go to three competitions/conventions as a company. There are also requirements that each member will be responsible for:

Attendance will be monitored, making sure members are in class to ensure choreography is well known and can be well executed for performances

We ask you to be a part of a Small Group, serve with Rez Church, and/or attend at least one service Sunday mornings. If you need help finding a place to serve, please ask and we can guide you! We want all members to grow spiritually as well as in dance.

There will be a parent and dancer meeting May 11th, 2023 at 6pm for ALL company members to talk with everyone about the new requirements and the breakdown of everything. Please make sure you are in attendance along with at least one parent (if applicable). Summer classes will begin 5/15/2023, and will span until 6/29/2023, Mondays and Thursdays only. Please keep July open for extra rehearsals, choreography and Intensive. Classes will be in the evenings 4-8pm (for all Thursdays) until June 1st, then will go to 10am-3pm (Mondays only).
